Requirements upon application

Applicants must show that they have the financial means to maintain themselves in Malaysia without relying on government help or employment. The following are the financial requirements:

For applicants under the age of 50, the following guidelines apply:

  • Proof of at least MYR 500,000 in bankable assets (approximately USD 114,000)
  • Evidence of a monthly income of at least MYR 10,000 (about USD 2,300)

Applicants aged 50 and up must meet the following requirements:

  • Proof of at least MYR 350,000 in bankable assets (approximately USD 80,000)
  • Evidence of a monthly income of at least MYR 10,000 (about USD 2,300)

Procedures and time frame of the Malaysia My Second Home Program

All candidates must be processed by the Ministry of Tourism and Culture. Each qualified candidate will receive a conditional approval letter from the Immigration Unit. • Applicants must open a Malaysian bank account and transfer the fixed deposit.

  • Purchase medical insurance from any Malaysian insurance company.
  • Request a medical report from any Malaysian private hospital or registered clinic.

 

The applicant can pick up their MM2H program visa after submitting the fixed deposit certificate, medical insurance policy, and medical report.

It’s worth noting that the visa does not allow the holder to work in Malaysia and does not grant permanent residency.
