Slovakia’s citizenship by investment program (CIP) is the most expensive in the world. It’s also one of the most opportunistic schemes. This program is known as the Major Investor Program, and it allows investors to become naturalized for economic investment in Slovakia.

Legal Provisions

Slovak citizenship may be granted under a discretionary facilitated procedure pursuant to Article 7(2)(b) of the Act on Slovak Citizenship to persons who have significantly contributed to the benefit of the Slovak Republic in economic, scientific, technical, cultural, social, or sports activities, where citizenship is granted directly by the Minister of the Interior.

Major Investment

To become a big investor, foreigners must meet the following investing criteria.

A capital investment of at least EUR 100 million in the enterprise’s development* the investment is economically substantial, or the company will create at least 300 new employment,

The investment was undertaken in the public interest of Slovakia, as decided by the Slovak Republic’s government.
